4th Indian School on Logic and its Applications
January 9–20, 2012
Manipal University

ALI, the Association for Logic in India, announces the fourth edition of its biennial International School on Logic and its Applications (ISLA), to be held at Manipal University, from January 9 to 20, 2012. The event is co-hosted by Manipal Centre for Philosophy and Humanities (MCPH) and Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT).

The Indian School on Logic and Applications is a biennial event. The previous editions of the school were held in IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, and University of Hyderabad. The objective is to present before graduate students and researchers of the country, some basics as well as active research areas in logic. The School typically attracts students and teachers from mathematics, philosophy and computer science departments. The School is complemented by a biennial conference. The fourth conference was held at Delhi University, in January 2011, and the proceedings published as LNCS 6521 in the FoLLI series.

The school will adopt a dual format: the mornings will consist of introductory courses on fundamental aspects of logic, by eminent researchers in the area. The afternoons will have workshops, which can be of the nature of advanced tutorials, or presentations on research areas, in different aspects of logic and applications.

Visit the ALI page for information on past events, and the ISLA 2010 website for details of the previous ISLA.
